The Hidden Ones. episode 2

Marcus was perched on the roof of the diner, in which the girl of his dreams worked. His thoughts drifted from this to that while waiting for the police scanner to report something. Crime had gone down since he became a vigilante,
"CALLING ALL DISPATCH REPORTING AN ARMED ROBBERY… THERES SIX ASSAILANTS WITH THREE HOSTAGES -BANG BANG- OFFICER DOWN! REQUESTING IMMEDIATE BACKUP" called the scanner, it went on about the location and Marcus smiled as he ran to help. Running across the rooftops climbing and jumping he made his way to the scene very quickly. As he got there he knew he couldn't use his powers with the amount of lights there he had to cut the power without being seen. "Concentrate" he thought "breathe..."
He turned around and grabbed the wall he was using for cover, then, everything went still, the lights flickered and the dark alleyway he was hiding in grew incredibly darker. In the darkest point in the alleyway out came a pair of glowing eyes. Marcus kept one hand on the wall and pointed with the other at the power box behind the place being robbed. Without saying any commands the pair of eyes moved out of the shadows, Marcus looked at his darkling, something only his fathers children could make, as it ran across the street. This one was short and fat with long arms and comically short legs, that was his favorite type, mostly because it was dumb and it looked funny but also because it didn't kill, which he liked.
The darkling reached its destination finally, it grabbed the power box and went inside it, sparks flew and everything went dark,
"LIGHTS OUT!" he yelled. Someone yelled at everyone to take cover, probably a cop.
“Smart man” Marcus thought, having enough darkness to use his powers he became a shadow and ran into the building.
“What the hell happened to the lights?!” the tall skinny robber said
“Shut up! The shadow is here.” the shorter and thicker one screamed.
“He’s obviously the leader” Marcus thought, “take him out first the rest will surrender.” Smiling, he came out of hiding, “You guys aren't afraid of the dark are you?” he said.
“Show yourself!” the leader screamed.
“Ok…” Marcus put his hands on the wall and out of them came pure darkness. It oozed slowly towards the leader, and even though it was pitch black, the true darkness was very visible in comparison. The tall skinny robber saw the dark and started shooting at it screaming, the leader knocked him out with one swing, then noticed the darkness coming for him and started to scream in fear, but it was too late it already grabbed his foot and quickly went up his leg, then his torso, as it got to his head his screams were muffled by the gurgling that followed it filling his mouth. He continued to struggle until there was a loud crack,
Marcus opened his eyes and took his hands off the wall the darkness dissipated immediately, the leaders now dead body fell to the floor. He summoned another darkling, it was much easier without all those lights, and pointed at the remaining robbers. All the creature had to do was show its beady glowing eyes to the men and they locked themselves in a room away from the hostages. He yelled “LEAVE! NOW!” at them and they did, Marcus became a shadow again and left the scene he flew up the wall of the neighboring building to the roof. Thats when he told the darkling to get out of the power box, “lights on” he thought.
